My Printer has full ink but comes out blank?

i need to know how to design a brochure. do you have a template for a one page two-sided color brochure?

I am not sure whether to use one full sheet like a magazine page ad, or a single sheet that is folded twice so it has three “column-like” frontice panels on each side, or a single sheet folded once so there are two panels on either side. I have the Copy in mind (more or less) and would like to include some photos. I am working with WIndows XP, Word, etc. I only have Acrobat Reader. Does anyone have a template doc or spreadsheet I can use as a basis to work with? Many thanks
